Serial production of Lada Vesta (description of the model) started at a subsidiary of AvtoVAZ - InzhAvto. the car will be produced together with the Nissan Sentra and Nissan Tiida models. The start of sales of the new car is scheduled for November 25 this year.

The new model is built on a completely new platform, independently developed by the engineers of the Volga Automobile Plant. However, many components, such as steering, suspension and brakes, are borrowed from the French-Japanese concern Renault-Nissan.

At the mass production launch ceremony, AvtoVAZ head Bo Anderson said the price would be between 495,000 and 600,000 rubles (6,800-8,100 euros). By the end of the year, about 6,000 cars will be assembled, of which 5,000 will go on sale. If the model gains the desired popularity, annual production could reach 100,000. AvtoVAZ plans to export the new Lada Vesta and the XRAY crossover not only to neighboring countries, but also to Germany and Italy, as well as to the Middle East. The export of the new model will begin next year, and the date of the start of sales will depend on the requirements of local markets. In countries where the Euro 5 environmental standard is in effect, Lada Vesta will arrive next year.

The design of the model was created by the Englishman Steve Maten, who worked for brands such as Mercedes and Volvo. Lada Vesta uses spare parts from manufacturers from all over the world, and about 71% of the components in the car are produced in Russia. The goal is to increase this percentage to 85.

Bo Anderson described the Vesta as "a world class product made in a world class factory". According to him, only a year has passed from the presentation of the concept car to the production version. He also spoke about the impressions of the meeting with Vesta and the opinions shared by foreigners. “We can't afford to participate in the Frankfurt Motor Show, but we have placed our cars in different places on the streets of the city, and it has generated a fantastic response.

"No one could have guessed that it was the Lada they knew from the past," Anderson said.

Initially, Lada Vesta will have a 106 hp 1.6-liter 16-valve petrol engine, which will work with a manual or robotic transmission. At a later stage, the range will be expanded with a unit with the same displacement, but increased to 114 horsepower.

Vesta will be available in three versions - "Classic", "Comfort" and "Lux".

The base version will get 15-inch wheels, an electric trunk lid lock from the passenger compartment and side mirrors with built-in turn signals. In addition to the tray, the driver will have automatic locking of the doors while driving and automatic unlocking, activation of the alarm in the event of an impact, ABS, EBD, traction and stability assistance systems, an anti-skid system and electric drive. power steering.

The mid-level Comfort package includes heated front seats, rear parking sensors, a 4.3-inch audio system, USB, AUX and Bluetooth. The most expensive and most richly equipped version of the Lux sedan will have additional full power accessories, a heated windshield, rain and light sensors, and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Vesta is the first mass-produced car of Russians equipped with the ERA-GLONASS system, which, in the event of an accident, sends information to the company's call center and indicates the exact coordinates of the car.
